Caramelized Pear Oatmeal

Try this yummy oatmeal developed by Kristina LaRue, RD from Love & Zest. It will keep you full throughout the morning!

Servings: 1 serving


1/2 cup Fifty50 Low Glycemic Hearty Cut Oatmeal
1 tablespoons ground flaxseed
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1/2 tablespoon Fifty50 Low Glycemic Maple Syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 pear, diced


  1. Prepare Fifty50 Low Glycemic Hearty Cut Oatmeal according to package directions. Once cooked, stir in ground flaxseed.
  2. In a cast iron skillet, heat coconut oil and Fifty50 Low Glycemic Maple Syrup over medium heat and cook until bubbly.
  3. Stir in pears and cinnamon, cover with lid for about 10 minutes to steam and soften pears.  Remove lid and cook for a few more minutes to caramelize pears.
  4. Divide oatmeal into two bowls, top with pears and add any additional toppings like pecans or Fifty50 No Sugar Added Peanut Butter
